Our Framework

R.E.S.T. to overcome cancer, heart diseases and other chronic illnesses

Why R.E.S.T.?

In our fast-paced lives, we often underestimate the importance of rest.

Yet, rest is not just a luxury—it is vital to maintaining our overall health and wellness. That is why we created the R.E.S.T. framework as a reminder and our formular for building overall health to prevent and overcome cancer, heart diseases and other chronic illnesses. The components of our framework are

  • Relax and Chill,
  • Eat Healthier,
  • Sleep Better, and
  • Train Your Body Well.

Relax and Chill (R)

This component underscores the significance of stress management and relaxation in our daily routine. By integrating relaxation techniques, enjoyable activities, and social connections into our lifestyle, we can alleviate stress and enhance our overall well-being. Additionally, prioritizing decluttering across our physical, mental, and digital spaces, along with ensuring financial and physical security further contributes to reducing stress levels and promoting relaxation.

Eat Healthier (E)

This component emphasizes the importance of making mindful and nutritious food choices to nourish our body effectively. Prioritizing whole, plant-predominant foods that are nutrient-dense while reducing intake of processed and sugary items can significantly benefit our physical health, energy levels, and mental clarity.

We follow the evidence-based Harvard Medical School Healthy Eating Plate model to promote a balanced diet. Additionally, we embrace the Okinawan principle of Hara Hachi Bu, which encourages eating until 80% full to prevent overeating and promote longevity.

Sleep Better (S)

This component underscores the significance of quality, restorative sleep for overall health and vitality. By prioritizing adequate sleep duration, improving sleep hygiene habits, and creating a restful sleep environment, we can enhance sleep quality and reap the numerous benefits of a good night’s rest.

Train Your Body Well (T)

This component focuses on the crucial role of regular physical activity, movement, and exercise in sustaining a healthy body and mind. By integrating a diverse range of cardiovascular, strength training, and flexibility exercises into our regimen, we can enhance our physical fitness, boost energy levels, and mitigate the risk of chronic diseases.

We adhere to the F.I.T.T. Model, which provides guidelines for effective exercise programming. This model focuses on

  • Frequency (how often you exercise),
  • Intensity (the level of exertion),
  • Time (duration of each session), and
  • Type (the variety of exercises performed).
